To ensure perfSONAR MDM is developed to meet user requirements, a user panel has been established to represent the views, needs and experiences of the different types of perfSONAR users. Currently there is a small group of NREN NOC and PERT network engineers on the panel.
The user panel will greatly assist the requirement gathering process, with the ultimate goal of keeping strong two-way communication between the service development team and its users. This is to ensure the different elements of the service – functionality, support and delivery – delivers what the community needs.
The perfSONAR User Panel has regular voice/VC meetings to discuss the quality of the service; any issues, support, any feature requests and other feedback, and had its first face-to-face meeting during the 2011 TNC in Prague. Next meeting is expected for Spring 2012
